Stevan Rexroat
Director of Bands
Stevan Rexroat currently serves as the Director of Bands at Oswego East High School, where he joined the band staff in 2013. At Oswego East, Mr. Rexroat's teaching responsibilities include Wind Symphony, Concert Bands, and teaching technique classes for Symphonic Winds, Symphonic Band, and Wind Ensemble. Mr. Rexroat directs the top level Jazz Ensemble and co-directs the Oswego East Marching Wolves. He additionally is the sponsor for the Oswego East chapter of the Tri-M Music Honor Society and conducts the pit orchestra for the musical. He also maintains an active saxophone private lesson studio. Mr. Rexroat attended Berklee College of Music and graduated in 2012 (Summa Cum Laude) with degrees in Music Education and Saxophone Performance and a minor in Conducting. Mr. Rexroat graduated from the American Band College of Central Washington University in 2020 (Summa Cum Laude) with a Masters in Music Education. Mr. Rexroat has previously presented at the Illinois Music Educators Association, Vandercook College of Music, and DePaul University. Ensembles under his direction continuously perform at prestigious regional festivals and competitions including the Illinois Music Educators Association and Music For All National Concert Band Festival. He is a member of the Illinois Music Educators Association, and the National Band Association. Outside of music, he enjoys playing sports, running, and traveling.
