Rob Fay

Rob Fay is excited to join the team at Oswego East High School as Assistant Band Director. Previously, he served in a similar role at Ravenwood High School in Brentwood, TN. During that time, he was a proud part of the numerous accolades the band received in Concert, Jazz, and Marching performances including the Tennessee State Governors Cup, performances at the Music for All’s National Concert Festival and TnMEA State Conference, and a WGI Class A Championship. Prior to his time at Ravenwood, Rob served as the Director of Bands at Stratford High School in Nashville, TN, where he grew both the marching and concert band programs during his tenure. 

Originally from New Jersey, Rob spent his high school years with the Paul Laurence Dunbar Band in Lexington, KY to which he credits his mentors for instilling a passion for music and the marching arts. Rob holds degrees from Vanderbilt University (BME & MME). During his time in the trumpet studio there, he won the Concerto Competition and performed as a featured soloist with the Wind Ensemble, Blair Big Band and Spirit of Gold Marching Band. He served as the graduate assistant for the Vanderbilt Marching Band, on the Nashville Jazz Orchestra Board of Directors, and as president of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Music Fraternity.

As a performer, Rob toured with the Cadets Drum & Bugle Corps. He has performed globally with Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Entertainment. He spends his summers on the road with Drum Corps International as a member of the Music City Drum & Bugle Corps brass staff. Rob is an active performer and currently plays with a variety of classical and commercial groups.
